Nexus Marble Shawl Pin
Nexus Marble has a gentle convex profile and a delicately coloured surface of ivory white with a scattering of gold and blue glitter inclusions. Additional colour comes from the blues, greens, and yellows which have been added to the clay.
The face of Nexus Marble has been stamped with a random geometric pattern of squares and circles, which have been filled with gold paint. One side of the pin head carries this colouring whilst the other is smooth and has not been textured, mimicking the back of the main disc.
My polymer clay shawl pins are ideal for fastening a woolly wrap, securing a waterfall cardigan, pinning a knitted scarf in place or embellishing a beanie. Suitable for any garment with a loose knit or weave, they can also be worn as a piece of contemporary jewellery. Even a silk scarf can be pushed through the disc and the pin passed behind it. Due to the diameter of the bamboo, I don’t advise using them with a fine machine knit or woven fabric.
Dimensions: Large disc: 57 mm diameter (2 & 1/4 inches) and 3 mm (1/8 inch) thick.
Small double sided disc at top of pin: 23 mm (15/16 inch) diameter and 7 mm (1/4 inch) thick.
Bamboo pin (excluding decorative disc): 87 mm long (3 & 7/16 inch) and 2.5 mm (1/8 inch) wide.
