Pumpkin Shawl Pin
Pumpkin is full of glorious autumn shades combined in an abstract pattern with some white gold glittery additions for an added bit of sparkle. The mustard, orange and olive clays have a matte finish whilst the bronze has a subtle, metallic sheen. Each side of the pin head has a different pattern and either works well on top.
Pumpkin has a largely smooth surface although there are some indentations due to the pattern making process. The back of the disc has a linen texture to the pearlescent gold clay.
My polymer clay shawl pins are ideal for fastening a woolly wrap, securing a waterfall cardigan, pinning a knitted scarf in place or embellishing a beanie. Suitable for any garment with a loose knit or weave, they can also be worn as a piece of contemporary jewellery. Even a silk scarf can be pushed through the disc and the pin passed behind it. Due to the diameter of the bamboo, I don’t advise using them with a fine machine knit or woven fabric.
Dimensions: Large disc: 57 mm diameter (2 & 1/4 inches) and 4 mm (3/16 inch) thick.
Small double sided disc at top of pin: 23 mm (15/16 inch) diameter and 6 mm (1/4 inch) thick.
Bamboo pin (excluding decorative disc): 87 mm long (3 & 7/16 inch) and 2.5 mm (1/8 inch) wide.
