Sea Urchin Shawl Pin, Mustard
Drawing inspiration from the intricate textures found on sea urchin shells, this gently curved, triangular shawl pin showcases a stunning ombre design that transitions gracefully from a warm mustard yellow shade in the centre to a vibrant green around the edges. Crafted using my own exclusive texture sheets, every piece is meticulously hand-painted and finished resulting in a unique colour palette and detailing. As these pins are made to order, each one will have slight variations in pattern placement and hue. You can customize your pin by choosing between two distinctive top designs: the mitre shell, featuring an elongated ribbed texture, or the murex shell, with its elegant circular swirl - each painted to match.
If you knitting an item and are unsure which colour scheme in the Sea Urchin range would best suit your wool, please send me a sample and I will paint your pin to match your fibre. Message me for details.
My polymer clay shawl pins are ideal for fastening a woolly wrap, securing a waterfall cardigan, pinning a knitted scarf in place or embellishing a beanie. Suitable for any garment with a loose knit or weave, they can also be worn as a piece of contemporary jewellery. Even a silk scarf can be pushed through the disc and the pin passed behind it. Due to the diameter of the bamboo, I don’t advise using them with a fine machine knit or woven fabric.
Dimensions: triangular disc: 70 mm (2 & 3/4 inches) in height and width; 4 mm (1/8 inch) thick.
Mitre shell top: 28 mm long (1 & 1/8 inch) ; murex shell 18 mm wide (3/4 inch)
Bamboo pin (excluding shell top): 75 - 80 mm long (3 - 3 & 1/4 inches) and 2.5 mm (1/8 inch) wide.
All dimensions may vary slightly.
